Pathogen Nucleic Acid Preservation Tube

Inactivate DNase and RNase to prevent DNA/RNA degradation;
Inactivate viruses and other microorganisms;
Used for collection, transportation and storage of virus/pathogen samples,
such as nasopharynx, oropharynx, sputum, alveolar lavage fluid, etc.;
Sample stored at room temperature for 15 days;-20℃ for long-term storage.

Mechanism of Action

Principle of Inactivation: Instantly inactivate pathogen (e.g. COVID-19 virus) in freshly collected clinical samples, reducing the infection risk of health care professionals during sample collection, transportation and testing.

Principle of DNA/RNA Stability: inhibit nucleases, thereby ensuring that the released nucleic acids are not degraded. Additional nucleic acid protecting ingredients in the preservation solution can protect nucleic acids, especially single-stranded RNA, so that RNA maintains stable in solution. The product can protect clinical samples of COVID-19 that cannot be tested immediately or require long-distance transportation.

Experimental data proves stability with PCR amplification curves

Clinical samples were stored at -20℃, 4℃, room temperature, 37℃, 55℃ for 15 days. RT-PCR results showed that compared with the sample stored at -20℃, the changes in Ct value at other temperatures (△ Ct) were 0.67(4℃), -0.28(room temperature), -0.88(37℃), 0.45(55℃); The absolute △Cts are all <1, proving that samples at room temperature were stable for 15 days.

Clinical Sample Collection

Clinical samples, such as nasopharyngeal /oropharyngeal secretion, are collected using a swab and then stored in the tube. Liquid sample can be directly transferred into the tube using a pipette.
